Sauntering, Our travels around the country Maple Syrup Symposium (2007) | October 24, 2005 After driving a sugar beet truck for 6 days I made a trip out to the farmers farm for a tour. The wheat harvest had been completed and the soy beet harvest was completed at about the same time as the sugar beet harvest. After the sugar beet harvest was complete there was not rest to catch your breath. The corn harvest jumped into to full speed ahead. The corn is stored on the farm, unit it is sold. Most of the corn has to be dried first before it can be stored. I climbed to the top of the of the structure in the third picture (I think there are 102 steps) you can get a great view of the farm and how flat the country is in the Red River Valley.
